My name is Sarah and I am a person centred counsellor based in Falmouth, Cornwall. I work therapeutically as a face to face counsellor and I also offer online counselling, through email or instant messaging.

I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy. As a qualified counsellor and member of the BACP I adhere to a professional code of conduct. This means that I protect client confidentiality and I am very mindful of their safety. With a deep respect for every aspect of the client’s experience; and a commitment to creating a warm, empathic and supportive environment.

I have experience of working therapeutically in the following areas:- abuse, alcohol and/or drug abuse, anxiety, depression, domestic violence, eating disorders, panic attacks, sexuality; and I also have an interest in Aspergers’s syndrome and dyslexia.

Online Counselling

•The advantage of online counselling is that it can be accessed easily and can offer support to people who may not be able to get out of the house; or for those who live in very remote areas.

•It is less expensive than face to face counselling and offers a convenience for people; in that they can schedule their appointments to fit in with their busy lives.

•Appointment times are easier to arrange, and waiting times are reduced.

•Online counselling has a certain anonymity and may be of benefit to those who feel uncomfortable about the idea of psychotherapy.

All online therapy is conducted using encrypted servers; Skype text, or Hushmail. Clients will be asked to set up accounts (if they do not already have them) depending on the counselling medium they are interested in; prior to therapy. This is for their own security.
